The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition, New Delhi
is an autonomous registered Society that was established in the year 1962. It is one of the premier institutes for Hotel Management in the country set up by the central government. The Institute made a humble start in a small building in 1962; it shifted to the existing campus consisting of the academic block, hostel and staff flats in 1967-68. Additional units were added in 1986-87. A new academic block with latest state-of-art facilities and equipment is coming up in the near future.
The Institute is the top hotel management institute in India hospitality management school located in Delhi, India. IHM Pusa is situated in Pusa Institutional Area, New Delhi. IHM Pusa is known to be the top hotel management institute in the country for the last 5 years in a row because of its placements, faculty, discipline and students. The Institute is governed by the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology set up by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.

History
This Institute is the second Government institute to start in 1962 under the Ministry of food after the Dadar Catering College, Bombay (Now IHM Mumbai). It was started by the Government of India under the guidance of Sir Belfield Smith in Pusa, New Delhi in the abandoned barracks behind present employment exchange building.
Ranking and Awards:
The Institute has been ranked as the number one Hotel Management institute in India by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for the past few years. It is also ranked as the top hotel management institute by news agencies like Outlook and Hindustan Times. There has been a tough competition between IHM Mumbai and IHM Pusa for the first place in the past but both are the best institutes of hotel management in India and are unique in their own ways
Contribution
Training thousands
The Institute over the years, turned thousands of trained personnel , many of whom are leading lights of the hospitality industry and training institutes. The institute imparts education and training to over 900 students.
Trained International faculties
Students from various developing and neighboring countries are also enrolled at the institute. The Institute has also trained in the field of management, key faculty, and hotel executives from Russia, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the Republic of Syria under the ITEC program of Ministry of External Affairs.
